Fag/Emner:
I studied at the department of Landscape
architecture and took two subjects for my semester abroad. One compusory and
one elective. My compulsory course was called “Master project” whereby you get
the chance to choose from a selection of projects that are assigned for that
semester, and then you will be assigned to one of them. The projects vary and
some are in english which was the one I was assigned. The project was called “
Emotions and climate change communication”.
My elective was on urban infrastructure and had a seminar and essay
structure to it.
Personlig
Utvikling:
Taking both my classes at Hannover gave me a
great perspective on how institute teach and emphasize what's important in the
field. This made it fun and interactive to see a productive and critical
viewpoint of how we understand and perceive the discipline and that it in most
cases blends into transdisciplinary discipline which motivates me.
Bolig:
Finding an apartment in Germany is very hard.
If possible I would suggest getting student accommodation because it helps you
with the paperwork that is required. The international student group and
Erasmus group might also come in hand here to understand how to get an
apartment, but the sooner you start looking the better.
Om
universitetet:
The university is quite large, and it's
situated very close to the city center of Hannover. It has various departments
and subjects and is known to have great campus life.
Språkutvikling:
I did not participate in a language class or
course, but it would be beneficial if you like to learn german. Not all classes
are run in English, and for many it will be a requirement to speak the language
well. As a surprise not many Germans speak English but in and outside the
institute.
Studentvisum:
I did not require one.
Er du
fornøyd med utvekslingsoppholdet ditt, og vil du anbefale andre studenter å
gjøre det samme?
I do recommend students to do an exchange, and
if possible do two semesters instead of one. It takes a while to get into the
system and on semester work but it can be a bit of a challange.
Var det
vanskelig å ta de emnene du ønsket å ta?
Not particularly, it was straight forward and
the erasmus team was really helpful with the process.
Fikk du
godkjent alle emnene dine da du kom hjem?
Yes.
Er du
fornøyd med fagelig kvalitet på universitetet?
Yes.
Hvor
langt rakk midlene du fikk fra Lånekassen/Erasmusstipend?
Both funding helps but, hopefully can be
revalued as cost of living does dramartially change when moving abroad and
having to adapt to a new currancy.
Oppnådde
du det du ønsker ved å dra på utvekling?
Yes.
