From a field trip we had during ME-101 Skogsbruk runt Östersjön - Swedish course at the University of HelsinkiAre you satisfied with your exchange, and would you recommend others to do the same?
I’m
very satisfied of my exchange in the University of Helsinki. Tutor group was
very informative and able to introduce exchange students to Helsinki and
student life. Teachers were also friendly and very engaged on the topics they
were teaching. Personally, I liked to have smaller five-credit courses instead
of fewer larger courses. Workload from the courses were well-adjusted and I was
able to do many other activities besides studying. I can warmly recommend the
University of Helsinki and Finland as an exchange destination.
Was it difficult to get the courses you wanted at the
host university?
It was
easy to get courses I wanted at the University of Helsinki. I contacted
teachers directly which made it easier to know if courses were suitable for
exchange students. I was also able to do last minute changes on my Learning
Agreement.
Did you get all of the courses approved when back at
NMBU?
Yes.
Are you satisfied with the academic quality at the
host university?
Yes. Courses
were very relevant to my masters, and they include topics that were not
available at NMBU. Also shorter, five-credit courses allowed me to choose
several different topics which was a nice change.
How beneficial was the Erasmus grant?
Erasmus
grant was very beneficial as I was not working during my exchange semester.
Did you obtain what you wanted by going on exchange?
Absolutely!
